Part of the Rabari collection of embroidered cushions. Handmade for Stitch by Stitch in Gujarat from handwoven sustainable, organic kala cotton fabric in a small herringbone pattern. Embroidered by hand by local women artisans using traditional Gujarati Silai embroidery stitches and motifs, reinterpreted for a modern look. The geometric pattern and neutral fabric works perfectly within a modern interior, or in a more traditional living room or bedroom.

Kala cotton is an Old World variety of cotton, indigenous to the dry Kutch region of India where it thrives with low rainfall without the need for additional irrigation. It is organic by default, as it doesn’t require pesticides or chemical fertilisers to flourish. Local craftspeople dye the yarn with natural dyes before passing to handloom weavers to weave into fabric.

Orders of two or more cushions are packaged in a handmade cotton drawstring bag which can be repurposed for clothes storage, or as a laundry bag!
