It’s been wonderful to chat with some of our favourite textile artists and brands on our new Instagram Live series, Textile Talk (see our previous post of 16 April).

So far, we’ve had enlightening discussions with anglo-British textile brand Safomasi, who design and hand screen print brightly coloured, illustrative home textiles, textile artist Carole Waller who paints onto clothing beloved of celebrities such as Prue Leith, and has recently diversified into painted glass panels.

In week 2, we talked to lighting designer Naomi Paul, who uses crochet to create spectacular, sculptural lighting on an architectural scale, and rug designer Helen Yardley - a very old friend and one of our ex-visiting lecturers at art college.

This week, we’re talking with Rebecca Hoyes - designer, trend explorer and colourist - about her work with artisans, designers and retailers worldwide, as well as her role as lecturer at Central St Martins college in London. Hear about her time living with Berber weavers in the Atlas mountains of Morocco!
