Textile Talk with Stitch by Stitch - Series 1 on IGTV
We’ve just wrapped up our first series of Textile Talk on our Instagram Live platform! The last few weeks have seen us chat with a varied selection of guests traversing the different disciplines of design, trend forecasting, craft, art and journalism, but all with a textile theme. All 14 talks are available to watch now on our IGTV channel .
Textile Talk series 2 will be back in July!
Textile designer Kangan Arora spoke to us about her work for Ikea, amongst other clients, and we discovered our production manager in Ahmedabad was her tutor at design college in India!
Graham enjoyed catching up with his old foundation tutor, Julia Griffiths-Jones, and hearing about her wire artworks.
Charlene Mullen was a great guest to end the series on - her honesty and candid insights into the realities of running a product design business was refreshing, and if I’m honest, a bit of a wake up call!
Graham’s friend and colleague at WGSN, Helen Palmer, talked about her role as Head of Materials, Textiles and Knit at the global trend forecasting agency.
Ekta Kaul shared her passion for hand embroidery, which stems from her roots in India.
We were delighted to have a chance to talk with Polly Leonard, the editor of Selvedge, about why and how she started the world’s most interesting and beautiful textile magazine, and about the upcoming Selvedge World Fair in London - an online event this year, but scheduled to be a global, real-life event in London in 2021.
We are busy lining up guests for series 2 of Textile Talk in July. Let us know in the comments below if there is anyone you would like to see as a guest!
