Preparing for Maison et Objet

We're looking forward to exhibiting again at Maison et Objet in Paris at the beginning of September.  It's always a bit of a mad dash to get everything ready at the end of the summer, but we always feel energised after our holidays and ready to put our all into the business again!

This season we're bringing our Desi woollen cushions (above) and our large Desi woollen bed covers, now both available in 3 naturally dyed colours of hand woven wool from Kutch, India.   All are hand embroidered by our talented ladies in Gujarat, working from home and using traditional embroidery stitches that have been handed down through generations of women.

Our Khamir Cubes quilt attracted a lot of interest at Maison et Objet in January.  Many people loved the reverse of the quilt as much as the front (see image above)!  "More Gees Bend" said Polly Leonard from Selvedge Magazine.  This gave us the idea to produce a collection of abstract quilt designs, using the same hand woven cotton fabrics from our kala cotton weavers, and made to the same exacting standards by master quilt makers Rhymill and his wife in Ahmedabad.  We'll be showing these for the first time at the fair.

More product launches include new designs (above) in our indigo cushion collection, utilising traditional Kutchi embroidery stitches, and hand woven scarves from our kala cotton weavers.

If you're a trade buyer or press, we hope to see you at Maison et Objet, Paris, 4-8 September.  Come and see us in Hall 1 Eclectic, Stand C57.
