Selvedge Spring Fair

The grand interior of Chelsea Old Town Hall was positively vibrating with colour and texture last weekend, for the Selvedge Magazine Spring Fair.

Deciding what to show is always a challenge at the Selvedge fairs, due to the small tabletop space allocated to each exhibitor, but we feel it's a good opportunity to pare down our product selection.  This time around, our stand had a geometric theme - the bold red and orange patchwork triangles of mashru fabric on our new Fish quilt complimented the softer, felted angular shapes woven into our Jannu radhi rug.

Our new, natural indigo embroidered cushions had their first outing. 

Our next door neighbour, London-based Mitas & Co, exhibited a strong collection of linen fabrics and wallpapers, designed by illustrators and local artists.  My favourite is this guinea fowl print designed by Binita Trivedi.

And it was lovely to make contact with Seher from S-jo Handcrafted Accessories.  As part of her PhD design research at the RCA, Seher initiated a design project with stitch artisans in Pakistan.  The results are some truly beautiful, intricate stitched jewellery and woven throws and scarves.
